Summer Pavillon by Noemie Meney

The project created by french designer Noemie Meney consisted in transformed the gazebo in summer holiday studio. The 32 sqm pavilion consists of a living room, a small kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom. It is built as an independent studio annexed to the holiday home. In contrast to this space, the rest of the studio is completely open to the outside. The windows can be fully open, therefore, there is no visual limit that separates the inside from the outside.
The high-ceilinged original shed enjoyed a remarkable communication with the outside through an ample arch. In order not to tamper with its interesting roominess, the project was adjusted to the existing space the way a swallow's nest clings to an attic's framework, altering the volume as little as possible."This 'nest' which occupies the upper volume of the shed is hidden from view by wickerwork screens. Like Venetian blinds or mucharabiehs (a type of carved wood latticework screen), they allow a person to see without being seen. Wickerwork, a material designers commonly use for chairs, is here given a modern new lease of life."
